This year the event was scheduled for soccer fields in Lago Vista, on the shores
of Lake Travis. 2 weeks prior to the event, 15+ inches of rain fell in the
hill country above the lake, which promptly rose to cover the soccer fields with
around 10 feet of water which only receded a few days before the shooting was to
begin. After some searching, Gina Carmichael found a new set of soccer
fields at the Optimist Club Sporting Complex in far northwest Austin.
The folks at this place were very helpful and accommodating, and despite heavy
rains falling the night before, the fields were very usable for our event.
Rain fell from time to time throughout the first day, but still some 9
records were broken by Reece David, Clayton DeBord, Ben Human, Joseph Human, Don
Morgan, and Tom Meyers. Check the
