THE JOAD of Columbus, lead by John and Karin Magera with great volunteer support, held a super event at a super location. Everyone was sheltered from the sun with a HUGE pavilion on concrete. The shooting line was a few feet away, in the sun, and the targets were set among oak trees that provided protection from the mild winds often present this close to the Gulf of Mexico coast. The young archers also had a really dynamic and fun time competing in a handicapped/equalized team event on Saturday afternoon, providing great experience to prepare them for the National JOAD Tournament being held in a few weeks. VIDEOS (high speed, slow motion actions shots of archers shooting at 300, 600, and 1200 frames per second, will be edited and uploaded in the next few days. HINT: Load the first picture in a given series, then use your right arrow button on computer to scroll through the photos in a shot sequence, and left arrow to back up or "see-saw" back and forth to see the motion of the shot. This album uses a player to play video clips, and also will play some tunes from Texan Robert Earl Keen's latest Album, Ready for Confetti. (You can buy this album on Amazon, recommended). If your browser asks if it is ok for "player" or "player.swf", it is safe to say yes.
