| UT Winter Star FITA - January 19, 2008 72 arrow, 70 meter rounds shot at the UT archery field in the dead of winter, with temperatures starting that morning at below freezing, rising to a daily high at 4pm of around 58 degrees F. Winds were nearly calm, and there were no clouds. Shooting was delayed due to sub-freezing temperatures. |

Due to the limitations of the 19th, with freezing temps causing a delayed start and short daylight hours we were not able to shoot the full tourament planned. As a result (and after verification with a FITA official concerning the delay in completion), an additional 72-arrow round to complete the tournament was shot as soon as the weather was good enough and when the judge and DOS were both available, on 1/29/2008. FITA Judge James Corral, official at the Jan 19 date, was official for the 29th finishing date. Temperatures were good and the winds were mild up until the last few ends when another cold front blew into Austin. Thanks go to the University of Texas and the UT Archery Club for conducting these tournaments.
