2005 World Indoor Team Selected

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The 2005 World Indoor Team Trials were held
this past weekend in Hillsboro, Texas with 24 archers being selected to
represent the United States at the 8th World Indoor Championships in
Aalborg, Denmark March 22-27.
In the Senior Recurve Division, number one ranked, two-time Olympian Vic
Wunderle (Mason City, Ill.), forty-nine year old four-time Olympian
Butch Johnson (Woodstock, Conn.) and Staten Holmes (San Antonio, Texas)
will represent the men. Number one ranked 2004 Olympian Jennifer Nichols
(Cheyenne, Wyo.) along with her younger sister Amanda (Cheyenne, Wyo.)
and Kathie Loesch (Sugarland, Texas) round out the team for the women.
Jennifer Nichols was a silver medalist at the last World Indoor
Championships held in France in 2003.
On the compound side, 2003 World Target Championship Gold Medalists Reo
Wilde (Pocatello, Idaho) and Dave Cousins (Standish, Maine) along with
Rod Menzer (Sheboygan, Wis.) make up the team for the Senior Men. Wilde
earned two gold medals at the 2003 World Indoor Championships. For the
compound women, number one ranked Jamie Van Natta (Toledo, Ohio) along
with 2003 World Target Champions Mary Zorn (College Station, Texas) and
Amber Dawson (Robesonia, Pa.) will compete for the U.S. on the World
Indoor Team.
The Junior Recurve Team will consist of 2005 United States Archery Team
(USAT) member Daniel Schuller (Mercer, Pa.), Aaron Tedford (Great Falls,
Mont.) and Josh Anderson (College Station, Texas) for the boys and 2005 USAT
members Lindsay Pian (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and Margot Stuchin (New York,
N.Y.) along with Stephanie Rowland (Orchard Park, N.Y.) for the girls.
Making up the Junior Compound Team will be 2005 USAT members David Roth
(Lowell, Mich.), Stephen Schwade (Monroe, N.Y.) and Brady Ellison
(Glendale Ariz.) for the boys and 2005 USAT members Aprilyn Witt (Wadell,
Ariz.) and Erika Anschutz (Grand Island, Neb.) along with Tiffany Reeves
(Helena, Mont.) for the girls.
The coaching staff for the World Indoor Championships will be Mark Penaz
(Phoenix, Ariz.) who will serve as the Head Coach along with Assistant
Coaches Alexander Kirillov (Tucson, Ariz.), Larry Skinner (Moberly, Mo)
and Larry Wise (Mifflintown, Pa.). Teresa Michael (Boynton Beach, Fla.)
will serve as Team Leader and Kathy Adams (Helotes, Texas) will be the
Assistant Team Leader.
