The 2009 JOAD State outdoor tournament concluded at noon on Sunday, June 14th.  The field consisted of only 22 JOAD archers and 2 guest adults, yet all enjoyed the clear sunny if windy two day tournament. The low turn out allowed for a single shooting line which enabled the archers to complete each day's shooting in time to avoid the forcasted 100+ heat indices. Unlike last year's tournament, we had no records set this year as the archers battled a 20 to 25 mph headwind on both days.

 

Dana and I would like to thank Rick Stonebreaker for serving as our Judge, Tom Barker and the South Texas JOAD for the use of their target mats, stands and other equipment, Jim and Anita Kreuger for serving as our DOS, and Chris Faidley and Paula LeBlanc for assisting in registration and concessions. I would also like to thank the maintenance department and the Athletic Director, Mike Rabe, of Ganado I.S.D. for allowing us the use of the school's facilities.
