2011 Texas State JOAD Target Championships
June 11-12, 2011

Hosted by Straight Arrow Archery Learning Center

Bonus:   Adults that want to come and shoot may do so for a nominal $30 fee.  There will be no awards for the adults shooting.  Also, youth archers that are not able to reach their age and bow type distances may shoot as a guest in any division for the same $30 fee.  There will be no awards for the guest divisions. Please make a note if you are doing this in the comment section of the registration form.

Entry Fee:   $35 for youths, $30 for Yeomen, and $30 for adults or youth shooting for fun. All entry fees are discount $10/archer if postmarked before the June 5th deadline.

Note for families with more than two archers:  The TSAA now discounts entry fees for families with more than 2 archers! - the first two archers pay full fees, and all other family members 18 years and under pay only $10 apiece if paid before the registration deadline. 

BEFORE THE DEADLINE:   Your registration check will be HELD by the TSAA till after the tournament so if you register & pay EARLY, you won't be out any money.  And If you need to cancel, we'll simply tear up your check!   Help us provide a better tournament by REGISTERING AND PAYING EARLY!  

Who:   Tournament awards to current TSAA/USA Archery members, compound, recurve and barebow, in both genders and all divisions.  Guests welcome. Awards to top 3 places in all divisions.

We are going to run the TSAA state tournament as close as we can to the format for JOAD Nationals in Sacramento.  Recurve Archers will be shooting at their OR distances over two days.  Compound archers will be shooting the new single distance compound round on the 80 cm target.  The TSAA State Championships will be determined by the combined scores over the two days.  You must shoot both days to be eligible for the state championships and consideration for youth archer of the year.

Recurve Distances

Junior Male and Female and Adults 70 meters, 72 arrows each day on 122 cm face (6 arrow ends)
Cadet Male and Female  60 meters, 72 arrows each day on 122cm face ( 6 arrow ends)
Cub Male and Female 50 meters, 72 arrows each day on 122cm face ( 6 arrow ends)
Bowman Male and Female 30 meters, 72 arrows each day on 122cm face ( 6 arrow ends)

Compound Distances

Junior  and Cadet Male and Female and Adults 50 meters, 72 arrows each day on 80cm face (6 arrow ends)
Cub Male and Female 30 meters, 72 arrows each day on 80 cm face ( 6 arrow ends)
Bowman Male and Female 25 meters, 72 arrows each day on 80cm face ( 6 arrow ends)
SPECIAL NOTE: we will have a Yeoman division at a distance to be determined by the skill set of the kids playing, most likely 20 or 15 meters on a 122 cm face.  The yeoman division is a participation class so if they need to take and end or two off that is ok.

Schedule:
Saturday, June 12th
9:00 a.m. - 9:45 a.m.  Practice
10:00 a.m. - Score First 36 arrows
Lunch Approximately 12:00 noon Concessions- drinks (water, sports drinks, soda's) and snacks available on the field.
1:00 p.m. Score Second 36 arrows

"After Saturday's shooting, all participants are invited to the Haynes house (directions on the field) for a pool party and pizza.  Contributions at the Haynes house to help pay for pizza accepted."  Please indicate on the COMMENTS SECTION of the registration form if you plan to participate in what is sure to be a LOT of fun and a great way to cool off and socialize.

Sunday, June 13th
9:00 a.m. -9:45 a.m. Practice
10:00 a.m.Score third round of the 36 arrows
Lunch Approximately 12:00 noon. Concessions- drinks (water, sports drinks, soda's) and snacks available on the field.
1:00 p.m. Fourth round of 36 arrows.

Awards immediately after competition.  Awards are based on total aggregate score from the four 36 arrow rounds.

ENTRIES MUST BE POSTMARKED ON OR BEFORE FRIDAY,  June 5th, 2011  TO RECEIVE THE $10 EARLY REGISTRATION DISCOUNT!

In order to expedite your registration, please fill out the ONLINE registration form via the link below, SUBMIT it by clicking on the SUBMIT button.  A copy of the information will be emailed to you when we process your application. PRINT THAT and send with your check to the address we'll give you on that email. If you catch an error, just write it on the printed page or you can email us. You will be asked to sign a standard NAA waiver upon check-in at the tournament. Remember that your registration is not official until your registration fee is received, but that we do NOT cash your check until after the event, so go ahead and get 'er done as soon as possible.
